September 14, (THEWILL) – The matchup between Arsenal and PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League has been rescheduled, and that has led to the postponing of the North London team’s English Premier League game against Manchester City in October.
The European match was initially slated for this Thursday, but was postponed due to a lack of police personnel in the UK, after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, as THEWILL reported.
The match versus PSV will now take place on Thursday, October 20, with a 7 pm kickoff time. The Gunners’ match against Manchester City, which was originally set for Wednesday, October 19, has been moved, to make room for that fixture.
A statement from the EPL to that effect read: “The Premier League has agreed with UEFA to postpone Arsenal’s Premier League match with Manchester City, originally due to be played on 19 October, to allow for Arsenal’s re-arranged UEFA Europa League match with PSV Eindhoven.
“Arsenal v PSV Eindhoven, originally scheduled to be played on Thursday, 15 September, will now be played on Thursday, 20 October, 18:00. A new date for the Arsenal v Manchester City fixture will be announced in due course.”
