Nataniel Bassey, Other GTBank Customers Decry Bank’s Poor Quality Control System

December 11, (THEWILL) – A cross section of Guaranty Trust Bank Customers have lamented the bank’s dwindling quality control system, which has resulted in unnecessary delays in transactions, unexplained debits and non-reversal of transactions, amongst other anomalies in their services.

Nathaniel Bassey, a famous Nigerian singer, pastor, trumpeter and gospel songwriter, took to his Instagram handle @nathanielblow, posted “not sure they are paying attention to quality control. Seeing a level of mediocrity I have not seen with them before.”

Also, a Twitter user identified as Jemeena (thisismeeema), complained bitterly that her N6,000 was deducted illegally from her account.

Jemeena disclosed this on December 9, in a tweet via her handle @thisismeeema.

She said “Hello @gtbank I was deducted 6k from my acct with no valid reason. Therefore, I need an explanation or a refund because that 6k is part of my Christmas money ooo.”

Both customers are not alone in their frustrations. Another customer, Eseohe Tamonokare, equally shared her disappointment on December 9, tweeting that “same thing happened to me few minutes ago. A transaction I made since morning and was debited for, I was debited again this evening. @gtbank @gtbank_help you guys should do something. 12,000 can’t hang like that this season.”

Another complainant, who tweeted via Sleeky_Fliq Twitter handle on December 10, gave similar grudges.

He said, “On Monday, I was also debited 6k trying to pay for what I bought at the mall and this guys didn’t get credited. Thank God I had spare cash. On Monday, na the closest GTB wey near me go hear am.”

In the same vein, Ibikun Olaseile, on December 10, via his Twitter handle @bikay12 stated “Hello @gtbank, I’m unable to reach your customer support and your WhatsApp portal isn’t helping either.

“I tried paying for my electricity bill (EKEDC) via the mobile app yesterday. I was debited (5k) and I haven’t gotten the token up until now. Kindly assis”

Emmanuel Benson also tweeted on December 10, saying “@gtbank_help The scam is becoming too much y’all should please fix this. I have about 3 people who complained of this same thing please fix your mess.”

Nwakaego 1 of Nsukka on December 9, in her tweet, pointed out that “it is no longer funny the rate they withdraw money from people’s account.”

Benny IO via Twitter handle @bennyiteh on December 8, queried “@gtbank what’s happening? I’ve been waiting for you guys to refund my money going to three months, the amount is N9,200. It might be small to you but it’s not to me. I’ve called and sent emails but still no luck, what else should I do, come and shout at one of your branches?”

On his part, Mazi Ezeamalukwuo on December 9, declared through a tweet that ”I do not understand what is going on with my account. I just deactivated it yesterday and added small money into it…only for me to start seeing money disappearing from my account.”

“Your Mobile App won’t even show the transaction histories. What the hell”, he added.

Another customer simply identified as Deezar, tweeted on December 8, saying “Dear @gtbank @gtbank_help kindly return my money back to my account, since Oct 18th. Why are you people wicked

”Hello @gtbank_help, it’s been a week and I’ve not gotten the reversal from a POS transaction. What’s up?”, Victor Umunna tweeted on December 7.

Another customer by the name Victor Endson, through his Twitter handle @victor_endson, on December 7, tweeted “Is there no way to sue @gtbank?? for all the numerous inconveniences they are causing we the customers, from unnecessary delays in transactions to unexplained debit from nowhere. It’s really getting out of hand.”
