December 11, (THEWILL) – The National Association of Seadogs (NAS), aka Pyrates Confraternity, Oxbow Marino, weekend, commemorates the confraternity’s 70th-anniversary celebration with a free medical outreach to Turubu community, in Biseni Kingdom of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The Medical Outreach, which was conducted in collaboration with Magna Carta Deck, UK and tagged “Weekend of Service to Humanity”, was one of the humanitarian initiatives executed by all branches across the world to commemorate the confraternity’s 70th anniversary.

Speaking during the outreach on Friday, Capoon of Oxbow Marino, Mr. Ebi Ayerite, said the gesture was part of the association’s corporate social responsibility of giving succour to the downtrodden and urged the flood victims not to be in despair but to continue believing in God.

According to him, the medical outreach in Turubu community was geared towards addressing the plight of indigent members of the community and addressing the health challenges of victims of this year’s flood disaster.

Ayerite, who also said the body has carried out similar programs in several communities in the state, admonished beneficiaries of the free medical outreach to make good use of the donated items to enhance their well-being

Appreciating the Seadogs for identifying with the people of the community in their trying moment, the King of Biseni Kingdom, King David Obuma, called for the extension of the same to other communities.

Also, one of the recipients, Chief Abariso Victoria, described the free medical outreach as important and timely.

He lauded the seadog confraternity for saving them the cost of seeking medical attention and called on other spirited individuals and corporate organizations to borrow a leaf from the association.

The medical mission, which also included the distribution of mosquito nets, drugs and liquid soaps, recorded over 300 beneficiaries, who were attended to with varying medical attention, prescriptions, drugs, tests and referrals.
