January 10, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actress, Susan Peters, has opened up about her failed marriage.
Peters, who had earlier in 2022 quit her marriage, decided to open up on circumstances surrounding the breakup. She disclosed that her ex-mother-in-law never liked her because of her skin colour.
The Benue State-born actress made this known while reacting to Prince Harry’s statement on how his family treated his wife, Meghan Markle.
In two interviews with British and US networks, ITV and CBS, the Duke of Sussex spoke of the death of his mother, the former Princess of Wales, Princess Diana, his disdain for the British press, his anger over the treatment of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and the subsequent fallout with his family since their marriage.
Peters wrote on her Instagram page in reaction to the video of Prince Harry’s statement:
“We all go through the same thing, my mother-in-law never liked me too. I think the colour itself is intimidating, oh, we never agreed with each other at all,” she wrote.
Peters had gotten married to her husband, Dr Keon Croon, in a traditional ceremony in Benue State in 2015.
They later had their civil wedding at the Ikoyi Marriage Registry. However, the union couldn’t stand the test of time as it packed up a few years later.
