October 29, (THEWILL) – Terem Moffi is likely to make his return for Ligue 1 side, Lorient, on Sunday, when they host Nice.
On October 15, in Lorient’s goalless draw with Reims, Moffi was taken off with an ankle injury. Fortunately, four days ago, the 23-year-old hitman started light training again. Lorient manager, Régis Le Bris, disclosed that Moffi might be available if he passes a last-minute fitness test prior to Les Merlus’ Sunday home game.
He said: “Moffi and Kone should participate in Saturday’s session. Ibra (Koné) followed a concussion protocol, but the tests are positive. We’ll see tomorrow if he can play, like Terem, but we won’t take any risks.”
This season, Moffi has been the top Nigerian striker in the top five European leagues. The former Kortrijk player has eight goals in eleven games in Ligue 1 for Lorient, contributing significantly to their impressive start to the season.
In his four encounters with Nice, the Super Eagles hitman has scored one goal, and he will seek to increase that total on Sunday.
