March’s Double Leads Brighton To Victory Over Struggling Liverpool

January 14, (THEWILL) – Brighton and Hove Albion secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Liverpool on Saturday, with a dominant performance from the home side that saw Solly March, finish the game with a brace.

The match began with Brighton on the front foot, controlling possession and creating chances early on. The home side broke through in the second half when March touched a cross from Kauro Mitoma past Alisson Becker, the Liverpool goalkeeper. Just minutes later, March scored again with a stunning strike to give Brighton a 2-0 lead.

Liverpool struggled to create any meaningful attacking opportunities, and the home side sealed the victory with a third goal from substitute, Danny Welbeck. March’s flick-on from a throw-in found Welbeck, who beat both Konate and Joe Gomez before firing in the final goal.

The result was a deserved one for Brighton, who have now won five of their last seven league games and moved up to seventh place in the Premier League. Liverpool, meanwhile, slipped to eighth place and now faces a difficult task in their quest to qualify for the Champions League.

For their next matches, Brighton will play Leicester away next Saturday in the Premier League, while Liverpool will play Wolves in their FA Cup replay game at Molineux on Tuesday.
