January 24, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich striker, Sadio Mane, returned to training on Tuesday, as the Senegalese star continued his rehabilitation from a leg injury that kept him out of the World Cup.

In a video posted on the club’s Twitter account, Mane was seen on the snow-covered field at Munich’s Saebener Strasse training facility, saying to the cameras “Hey, it’s great to be back after a long break.”

The 30-year-old sustained a right leg injury during Bayern’s 6-1 home victory against Werder Bremen on November 8 and underwent surgery, preventing him from participating in Senegal’s World Cup campaign. The forward has been working tirelessly to recover and is now back on the field with his teammates.

Bayern coach, Julian Nagelsmann, stated in early January that Mane, who joined the team from Liverpool last summer, could potentially return for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 match against Paris Saint-Germain on March 8. However, Nagelsmann also mentioned that there is only a slim chance that Mane will play in the first leg.

Nevertheless, fans are eagerly awaiting Mane’s return and his contribution to the team’s pursuit of more trophies.
