October 23, (THEWILL) – Veteran actress, Idowu Phillips, aka Mama Rainbow, rolled out the drums in celebration of her 80th birthday and 55 years on stage on Thursday.
Though she clocked 80 on October 16, she had her party a few days after. The event took place in Lekki, Lagos, and was attended by her colleagues in the industry.
The octogenarian danced into the hall as guests cheered her on. She wore a gold dress which radiated class and elegance. One of the highlights of the event was the official unveiling of Mama Rainbow’s memoir, ‘The Goldsmith’s Daughter’.
Some of the dignitaries in attendance include the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State, Ayodeji Amodu, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos State chapter, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo; the Iyaaleje of Oodua land, Toyin Kolade; Group Chairman of Revolution Plus, Bamildele Onalaja; and Lanre Hassan, aka Iya Awero and other dignitaries.
