January 15, (THEWILL) – Atalanta secured a resounding 8-2 victory over Salernitana in a thrilling match that saw Ademola Lookman continue his fine form in the Serie A with two of those goals.

The home team took an early lead with a goal from Jeremie Boga in the fifth minute, but Salernitana quickly responded through Boulaye Dia in the 10th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

However, Atalanta regained the lead with a penalty goal from Lookman in the 20th minute, and Scalvini added another goal three minutes later to extend their lead to 3-1. Teun Koopmeiners scored another goal for Atalanta after a penalty was awarded and saved by Salernitana’s Memo Ochoa.

Atalanta continued to dominate the game, with goals from Lookman, Ederson, and Zortea in the second half, while Salernitana managed to score one more goal through Nicolussi in the 56th minute.

The final score of 8-2 in favour of Atalanta was a deserved victory for the home team, who dominated the game from start to finish. The victory takes Atalanta to sixth in the league table, while Salernitana will need to regroup and improve their performance in their next match to avoid dropping from 16th into the relegation zone
