Liverpool Protest Ticket Allocation For UCL Round Of 16 Tie Against Real Madrid

December 06, (THEWILL) – Dissatisfied with the 1,800 match tickets allocated by UEFA for their forthcoming Champions League round of 16 match, Liverpool has filed complaints with both UEFA and Real Madrid.

On March 15, the Santiago Bernabeu will host the second leg of the match between the two finalists from last year. But, the total number of tickets handed to Liverpool’s supporters has angered the Reds.

According to a statement on their website on Tuesday, the club thinks their allotment is “significantly less than expected” and has therefore, reached out to UEFA and Real Madrid to “understand the rationale” for the lower number.

Referencing their supporters’ club, Liverpool added: “Spirit of Shankly, the official Supporters Trust, and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association, have also asked the club to raise their concerns and asked to remain in dialogue throughout the process.

“Representatives from LFC are in direct contact with the Supporters Trust and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association and will continue to explore all options to increase the allocation, particularly for disabled supporters. LFC will provide supporters with an update when the ticket allocation has been confirmed.”
