October 16, (THEWILL) – The leadership of Life In My City Art Festival (LIMCAF), has disclosed the curator for the 2022 edition of LIMCAF grand Finale.
In a document released Saturday, signed by the Art Director of LIMCAF, Dr Ayo Adewunmi, Dr Chike Obeagu, was selected to curate the 2022 edition of LIMCAF grand finale.
The distinguished visual art professional and reputable curator Obeagu, currently lectures in the Department of Fine Arts Federal University, Lafia.
The multi-talented artist and scholar, who found creative expression through painting, photography, installation art, and poetry has won several awards including First Prize for the 2011 National Arts Competition in Nigeria, the UNODC Award for Partnership in Combating TIP (Trafficking in Persons) and SOM (Smuggling of Migrants), the W.K Kellogg Foundation/Ford Foundation Awards, as well as Prince Clause Fund for Culture and Development, among others.
Obeagu has participated extensively in major exhibitions, biennials, residencies, and workshops in Nigeria and internationally. Moreso, he is a co-founder and creative director of FAbA (For Artists by Artists) studios and also an instructor with the Art is Everywhere project.
In addition to creative works, Obeagu has been involved in several cultural initiatives and over nine curatorial projects including LIMCAF 2018 and 2019.
