December 06, (THEWILL) – Gabriel Jesus has successfully undergone knee surgery to deal with the injury he recently kicked up while representing Brazil in Qatar.
THEWILL recalls that Jesus suffered a right knee injury during the Selecao’s match against Cameroon in Group G, and it was later confirmed that he will be sidelined for the rest of the World Cup.
According to Brazil’s head coach, Tite, Jesus reportedly had a problem before playing for the five-time world winners in Qatar and some unconfirmed reports emanating from the Brazilian media have concluded that Jesus will be out for three months.
On Tuesday, Arsenal, the English Premier League’s top team, announced that Jesus had begun his rehabilitation process. The 25-year-old has been crucial to the Gunners’ successful start to the EPL season, which has seen them lead the standings after 14 games by five points.
Only Martin Odegaard of Arsenal has scored more goals than Jesus’ five, and only Bukayo Saka and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City, have recorded more assists in the English top division than Jesus’ five.
