November 10, (THEWILL) – To ascertain the extent of a groin injury sustained during Wednesday’s 114-101 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers will undergo medical testing on Thursday.
In post-match comments, James said of his exit before the game finished: “I didn’t do anything extraneous on the play. Just when I landed, I felt a little spasm or strain in my groin. So immediately I had to come out after that on the next play down when I went to the free throw line.
“I’ll go around [the clock] treatment for 24 hours, and if it’s OK on Friday, I’ll be in the lineup,” James added and he finished the game on Wednesday with 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 32 minutes.
With just a 2-9 record this year, the Lakers have struggled both with and without James in the starting lineup. He has nevertheless kept up his individual contribution, scoring 24.9 points, pulling down 8.8 rebounds, and dishing out 6.9 assists a game.
In his most recent campaign, the 18-time All-Star improved, even more, averaging 30.3 points per game, which is the second-highest average of his career. He also added 8.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks each game.
