I’ve Contributed To Development Of My Community – US-Based Samuel Uwandu

January 16, (THEWILL) – A one-time Imo State Governorship candidate, under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Chief Samuel Chigozie Uwandu, a Certified Public Accountant, says he has contributed meaningfully to the development of his Community.

The United States-based Accountant, who provides accounting services to small and medium-sized businesses, non-profit organisations, physicians, nursing homes and individual customers, disclosed this while interacting with members of Mbano Journalists Association, MJA, who paid him a courtesy visit in his house, Weekend.

Uwandu, a native of Ezihe Community, in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the State, noted that he had provided solar-energised street lights, renovated a Catholic church building, empowered indigent women in the community with capital to set up businesses, Footed medical bills of many, paid school fees for students from the area and has single-handedly maintained Ezihie-Anara road.

“I am currently working towards providing water for my people, I sent Six Million Naira (N6,000,000) to my people here in the village.”

The former guber candidate, who was a member at the 2015 Presidential inauguration, in the United States of America, USA, noted that he had participated in other activities politically, and socially.

He expressed sadness over the rising spate of insecurity in the state and, therefore, charged the Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, to tackle the issue.

“As a result of the present security challenges, the Internally-generated revenue of the State is greatly reducing”, he regretted.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the association, Kelechi Uzoma, said that the essence of forming the association was for the unity of the people of Mbano in particular and the Okigwe zone in general.

He described the awardee, Chief Samuel Uwandu, as a man, whose immeasurable inputs in the area are speaking loud- hence the association resolved to honour him with an award.

“We came to honour you because you have touched lives in all ramifications. You have been a worthy son of Mbano nation, vis-a-vis Imo State. That is why I have decided to give you this award”, he said.
