August 27, (THEWILL) – Following grumblings around the state concerning the ongoing road constructions in the state, the administration has reinstated its position to complete and commission all ongoing projects in the state before the end of the administration.

The Commissioner of Works, Hon. Irmiya Hammajulde, who made this known to journalists on Thursday in a Press briefing at the Press Centre in Jalingo also said the briefing was necessary because the Rescue Administration has recorded a lot of achievements over time which must be made known to Tarabans.

Hammajulde noted that since the inception of the administration, Gov Darius Dickson Ishaku had mapped out the Rescue Agenda to better the lives of the people of Taraba State.

He said: “Since His Excellency Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku assumed ofice, it has been his priority to improve the lives of Tarabans and that is what he has been doing since then. So many road constructions are ongoing, some have been completed and these projects are been monitored by the Ministry of Works.

“Efforts are being made to see to the completion of these projects in spite of the weather and other circumstances and we assure you that they will be completed and commissioned.”

Some of the constructions outlined by the Honorable Commissioner included the bridge on River Nukkai, a flyover around Roadblock Roundabout, six pedestrian bridges to ease movement, pedestrian walkways, the Wukari -Tsokundi road, the Yorro-Pantisawa road amongst others.

Hammajulde also told journalists that contrary to the misconceptions about the cost of the dual carriage way in the city, the cost implication is estimated to be N34 billion, while reaffirming that without a doubt, all ongoing projects will be completed as well as others that may be awarded before the end of the tenure.

“Because of the giant strides this administration has recorded, Tarabans will remember His Excellency when his tenure has elapsed. These achievements will stand a test of time and will speak for him even when he is not on the seat,” he said.
