November 23, (THEWILL) – Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family, may attempt to sell the team as they consider accepting outside investment.
Since the Glazer family took over management of the team in 2005, United supporters have never warmed up to them. As these supporters have continued to protest their ownership for 17 years, this part of the club’s history may be coming to a conclusion.
The Glazers have the option of selling the club in its entirety and will soon reveal their plans as they seek outside investment. Investment bankers are currently providing advice to the Glazers, and a formal declaration might be forthcoming with the Glazers instructing banks to manage a sale.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013, United has seen a significant deterioration on the field and has failed to win the Premier League. Since their 2017 Europa League success, they have not won a significant trophy of any type.
As THEWILL reported, Cristiano Ronaldo recently lashed out at the Glazers’ ownership in an interview with Piers Morgan, leading to a mutually agreed decision for him to leave Manchester United with immediate effect.
