January 14, (THEWILL) – A fire incident has occurred at the Bompai Headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Kano.
According to a source, the fire, which started at about 2.00pm on Saturday, affected structures from the Provost’s office down to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The source said the fire spared the office of the State Commissioner of Police and the block of offices adjacent to the office.
Several documents were believed to have been gutted by the inferno, said a witness, who, however, added that there was no report of injury or loss of life.
The cause of the inferno could not be ascertained as the Public Relations Officer of the state Fire Service and the Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Abdullahi Harua kiyawa, could not be reached for comment.
Meanwhile, THEWILL gathered that the fire has been put off by officials of the State fire service.
