September 01, (THEWILL) – A pro-democracy coalition, Civil Society Organisation of Nigeria (CSON), has described the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), as a divine asset from God, gifted to Nigeria, to serve as an agent of economic growth, infrastructure development and political stability.

The Coalition, in a statement jointly signed by the Convener and co-convener, Comrades Razaq Olokoba and Folashade Aransiola respectively, averred that “since God, out of His infinite mercy has endowed the country with a human resource like Fashola, what remains for the country is just to utilise him with a view for him to earnest other natural resources for the benefit of the citizenry.”

The statement, therefore, urged the good people of the country to keep supporting the Minister to coast home successfully in the onerous task of building the nation via infrastructure development, the duty given to him by his forward-looking boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, assuring that, “the Fashola we know is always prepared to serve the country in any capacity that would be of immense benefit for.

It expressed the belief that, if Fashola is adequately utilised, the project called Nigeria would witness rapid development and growth that would compete seriously with any developed nation in the universe. Warning however that, “if the country, either out of sentiment, jealousy or miscalculation ignores this shining star, the consequence would be better imagined.”

According to the statement, Fashola has gone beyond the axiom of a hidden treasure because he has already manifested at the horizon through his performances all this while either as a loyal Chief of Staff to former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to his time as the governor himself till now as the current Minister in charge of infrastructure, which is the life wire of any country yearning for development and progress in all aspects of growth.

The organisation, therefore, urged all well-meaning stakeholders in Nigeria to put their thinking caps on with a view to fashioning out a situation whereby a star like Fashola would be allowed to make his patriotic service to his fatherland a continuous one for the benefit of the generality of the Nigerian citizens.
