October 29, (THEWILL) – Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus team grabbed a 1-0 victory at Lecce on Saturday, as Nicolo Fagioli brightened the contest with a replayable goal.
In the 73rd minute, the substitute scored the game-winning goal after turning in the penalty box following a quick cross from the left flank by Samuel Iling and curling a beautiful shot in off the far post.
Juventus was under intense pressure prior to that and it did not help that their injury-riddled team played with little assurance while rarely threatening to find that extra gear to get a breakthrough against their less fancied opponents languishing just above the drop zone.
This win gives Allegri’s side their third straight victory and clean sheet in Serie A despite their underwhelming UEFA Champions League group stage display, which resulted in their unceremonious exit.
Ahead of a busy schedule of matches, Juventus will be looking to welcome back some of their injured players. On Wednesday, they are up against Paris Saint-Germain and the Derby d’Italia versus Inter awaits them on Sunday. Lecce will be on the road for the next fixture which is at the weekend against Udinese.
