October 26, (THEWILL) – The English Football Association has confirmed that Jordan Henderson of Liverpool will not face any consequences for his clash with Gabriel Magalhaes, the center-back for Arsenal, earlier this month.
As THEWILL reported, Henderson and Magalhaes got into a heated argument midway through the game, which Arsenal won 3-2 that the referee had to speak to both managers as a result. Following that, the FA also launched an investigation into the accusation that a racist slur was used.
The regulatory body, however, has now acknowledged that it did not discover any evidence of wrongdoing and will not be taking any disciplinary action. The FA, after collecting witness evidence, reviewing footage and the evidence of independent linguistics experts, stated: “None of the witnesses heard the alleged comment, and the player accused strenuously denied the allegation throughout.
“Whilst The FA is entirely satisfied that the allegation was made in good faith, it is equally satisfied that there is no case to answer. The FA continues to take all allegations received extremely seriously and would encourage anyone who believes that they have been the subject of or witness to abuse to report this through the appropriate channels.
“The FA receives a number of complaints in any one season and thoroughly investigates each one that it receives. Following consideration of all of the evidence received, not all cases will result in a charge being issued.”
