December 01, (THEWILL) – The producer of Oyi Bitters alcoholic drink, Exponent Distilleries Limited, has announced plans to establish an industrial village in Benue State, where all manufacturing companies in the state will be housed.

The Chief Executive Officer of Oyi Bitters, Mr Desmond Edwin Oche, who disclosed this while unveiling the product in Makurdi, explained that the proposed industrial village will not be owned by his company but other stakeholders will be involved for greater synergy.

According to him, between 70 to 80 per cent of the products used in the production of Oyi Bitters were sourced locally, particularly in Benue state.

“Sourced from the deep lush green vegetational lands of the ancient Benue people, comes some of Africa’s most exotic herbs, roots, and rare tree barks with renewed health benefits, responsible for preserving the health of the people as far as history could allow us to remember”, he explained.

The CEO stated that as a son of the soil, he decided to unveil the product in Benue, Makurdi, Gboko and Oturkpo rather than Abuja, where the head office is located.

Oche revealed that at the beginning, the company has tagged 200ml at N500.00 while 100ml goes for N150.00, noting that the product is heart friendly and advised consumers to eat solid food before drinking it.

“Ours is a perfect blend of nature’s finest, inspired by the ancients, produced for the modern to promote health, deepen cultures and to establish friendship. This is the thought behind the Benue together initiative to be promoted by the brand”.

Speaking further, he explained that Oyi Bitters contains essential nutrients gotten from beetroot, ginger, honey and caramel, which offers a plethora of benefits: it improves blood flow, decreases blood pressure, helps to lower cholesterol levels and protects the arteries.

Brand ambassadors including Kpoco plc, Chokori and bishop Oche, all endorsed the product and declare it fit for consumption without a hangover.

Reacting on behalf of the media, the chairman of Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Tor Vande Acka, commended the founder for deeming it fit to unveil the product in Benue rather than Abuja, the nation’s capital city.

He noted that the planned establishment of the company in Benue will help tackle issues of unemployment and pledged to give publicity for the public to use the product.
