Everton Set To Offer Iwobi New Long-term Contract

December 17, (THEWILL) – In light of Alex Iwobi’s improved performances and contributions to Everton, the English Premier League side is set to offer him a new long-term contract.

THEWILL recalls that the Toffees spent £28 million plus a further £7m in performance-related add-ons, to secure the signing of the Hale End Academy product from Arsenal in 2019.

The 26-year-old struggled throughout his first two and a half years at Everton but found his rhythm again after Frank Lampard, was hired in January 2022, quickly becoming a fan favourite at the Merseyside club. At the conclusion of the 2022/2023 season, Iwobi will enter the final year of his current contract, and Everton has acted promptly to offer him a new deal.

Since the talks have gone smoothly thus far, the Nigerian is now anticipated to soon sign a new, long-term contract with Everton. He has amassed five assists in fifteen games in the English Premier League this season, second only to the nine of Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, who has six.

He has flourished this season playing in centre midfield and was nominated for the EPL Player of the Month award for September 2022.
