January 19, (THEWILL) – The gubernatorial ambition of Dr Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Enugu state, received a boost on Wednesday, as former Chairman, Ezeagu Local Government Council, Hon. Fred Chukwudi Ezinwa, donated a branded Sienna, three motorcycles and tray as souvenirs for Peter Mbah Grassroots Movement (PGM).
Ezinwa said the Enugu state gubernatorial candidate, under the umbrella of PDP, will tour the 17 local governments in town hall meetings, adding that this would enable him ascertain the people’s needs. “And so, if eventually he wins the election, the task ahead would be easier for him.”
Ezinwa, who was chairman of Ezeagu local government council between 2016 and 2019, is an oil and gas business mogul for years before he became the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor.
He said that the Ezeagu South town hall meeting held, was aimed at welcoming the incoming governor, to receive and cheer him up.
“The Board of Trustees (BOT) members you see today are from different parts of Enugu state including Prince Lawrence Eze, BOT Chairman of PGM; Chief Mike Onu, BOT member representing Nkanu East; Okezie Nwajoku, BOT representing Aninri Local government; Frank Ngwu, BOT representing Udenu Local Government, while I am the BOT member, PGM for Ezeagu Local government.
“We are fronting grassroots support based group. The people came in their numbers to cheer me up as the BOT representing Ezeagu local government at the Ezeagu South Development Centre in Enugu state”, he said.
He stated that Dr Mbah has convinced him beyond every reasonable doubt and that prompted the decision to be active again in terms of politics.
“This is a man whom I believe that we do things differently, I have listened to his manifesto and all the proposal he has for Enugu state and if he implements all of them he will do well more than we expect.”
Speaking at the town hall meeting, held in Ezeagu South Development Centre, Ezinwa noted that the Sienna was procured to possible the campaign train to all hooks and crannies of Ezeagu community.
“The three motorcycles were designed for door to door campaign and we also have designed cartons of tray as souvenir to make sure all the gifts get across the people we would be campaigning to. We are a self-financed support group, we do not want people to give us money”, he added.
Leader, PGM, Prince Lawrence Eze, stated that “we are here simply because one of our prominent BOT Chairman Fred Chukwudi Ezinwa. According to him, Ezinwa has greatly provided a very massive support in terms of materials for the guber candidate and the need for our support group and to promote our support group and to promote Peter Mbah.
“We have been able to assist him in making the presentation and commissioning of the campaign’s materials to use.”
