Danjuma Snubs Everton For Potential Loan To Tottenham

January 24, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur has made a late move to bring in Villarreal winger, Arnaut Danjuma, to north London.

The Netherlands international had appeared to be heading to Everton on loan until the end of the season to help them fight against relegation from the English Premier League. However, after completing a medical with the Toffees, he seems to have had a late change of heart and is now in talks over a loan to Spurs instead.

Everton had believed that they would have been announcing a deal for Danjuma today, but the move fell through due to the player’s change of heart. Spurs have been in the market for another forward this window and talks are ongoing with Roma over Nicolo Zaniolo.

In addition to Tottenham, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have also tried to make a late run at Danjuma. The 25-year-old Danjuma is a highly sought-after player due to his impressive performances last season, where he scored 16 goals in 34 games for Villarreal. However, despite his impressive performances this season, he missed out on a spot in Netherlands’ squad for the 2022 World Cup.

With the January transfer window closing soon, it remains to be seen where Danjuma will end up, but it seems that Tottenham is now the front-runner to secure his services. He looks certain to return to the EPL and will be expected to improve on his initial time with Bournemouth.
