BEVERLY HILLS, July 20, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Monday reported 562 confirmed new cases of the coronavirus as total infections reached 37, 225 nationwide with 15, 333 recoveries and death toll climbing to 801 (12 new).

The FCT, according to figures released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, topped with 102 new cases, while Lagos returned 100 and Plateau added 52. See below for a full breakdown of the numbers.

The NCDC says it has tested 214, 228 samples as at July 19, 2020.

THEWILL notes that these figures are hardly a reflection of the true state of the pandemic in the country as the NCDC only has the capacity to test 3, 000 samples daily, a number too insignificant when compared with the country’s estimated population of 200 million people.
