Court Nullifies APC Nasarawa West Senatorial Primary

November 02, (THEWILL) – The Federal High Court in Lafia, on Wednesday, nullified the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Election in Nasarawa West Senatorial District, over fake delegates list used during the party primary

Justice Nehezina Afolabi, while ruling in a suit filed by one of the APC aspirants, Labaran Magaji, ordered the party to conduct a fresh election in the zone within 14 days

The court ruled that the delegates list used during the primary election held on 4th June, 2022, was fake, adding that the purported declaration of Shehu Tukur, as winner of the primary election “stands nullified.”

She directed the APC to conduct a fresh Primary Election within 14 days using the delegates list originally certified by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Ghali Ahmed, Counsel to the Plaintiff, said they would study the judgement and come up with a position within 24 hours.

On his part, counsel to the defendant, Mubarak Adekilekun, noted that he will consult with his client on the next line of action about the judgement.

The Plaintiff, Labaran Magaji, said he would continue to seek justice for the interest of APC and the common man.

Magaji had approached the court seeking to declare him the winner of the APC primary election for Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone of Nasarawa State, alleging irregularities during the exercise.
