March 18, (THEWILL) – The draw for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals has been done, with Real Madrid facing Chelsea and Manchester City slugging it out against Atletico Madrid for two England versus Spain combo.
That latter draw will see the reunion of two familiar foes in the managers of both sides. Pep Guardiola of City will once more contend against Atletico’s Diego Simeone in a recall of their matches in La Liga, when Guardiola was in charge at Barcelona.
In the other ties, Benfica was drawn against Liverpool and Villarreal have to survive the onslaught of Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.
The probable path to the final for all eight teams was also revealed in the draw for all semi-final ties.
Man City or Atletico will face one of Chelsea or Real Madrid in the last four, while the winner of Benfica versus Liverpool will face Bayern Munich or Villarreal for a chance to win the Champions League.
The dates to note for the lap rounds of the coveted European football competition are:

Second legs: April 12/13

First legs: April 26/27
Second legs: May 3/4
