January 30, (THEWILL) – Chelsea are making a big push to sign 22-year-old midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, from Benfica before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

The West London side has reportedly made an offer worth €120 million ($130 million) for the talented Argentine player. Fernandez has been in their cross-hairs throughout the January transfer window and is determined to finalize the deal before the deadline.

The midfielder made a name for himself on the international stage, playing a key role in Argentina’s World Cup triumph in Qatar last year. Despite only joining Benfica for €18 million from River Plate in the summer, the Portuguese might be on the move.

Chelsea has been busy this month, with close to £200 million spent on new players including Ukrainian forward, Mykhailo Mudryk and several others from clubs around the world.

The club is seeking a successor to Jorginho, who will become a free agent this summer, and had a £55 million bid for Brighton midfielder, Moises Caicedo, rejected earlier in January.
