October 23, (THEWILL) – A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has advised people working closely with Apostle Johnson Suleman, the founder and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), to take necessary precautions.
According to Fr Kelvin, Suleman seems to know something that is capable of putting those working with him at risk, which they may not be aware of.
THEWILL had reported that gunmen had attacked the convoy of the cleric on Friday evening, along Warake Road, as he was returning to his base in Auchi.
While Apostle Suleman escaped death, reportedly with the aid of his bulletproof vehicle, six people including three police officers and three aides of the Cleric were killed by the gunmen. One other aide of the Cleric was reportedly whisked away by the gunmen.
In a post on his Facebook page, Fr Kelvin said he will not thank God for saving Suleman’s life from assassination.
He accused the minister of being insensitive with his testimony by not caring about the other persons who died because the gunmen tried to assassinate him.
He wrote, “I have always said it here, when giving testimonies, be sensitive. Don’t use other people’s misfortune to elevate your own story.
“In their bid to assassinate you, seven persons were killed and you are like ‘my life is in the hands of God, nobody can kill me.
“Well, I will not thank God that you survived the assassination, I will rather thank God that you admitted to knowing those that were behind the assassination and shooting.
“I call on the police and the government to take it up from there. The lives of those seven persons matter so much. The minister’s life is not more valuable than theirs. A full investigation should be opened immediately until those behind the shooting are arrested and given what they deserve by law.
“And for those working closely with the minister, I will advice you to take necessary precautions because it seems he knows something that is capable of putting you at risk, which you may not be aware of.”
