January 23, (THEWILL) – West Ham midfielder, Declan Rice, appears certain to leave the club at the end of this season, with the ambition to test himself in the UEFA Champions League.

Rice, who is contracted with the Hammers until 2024, is a highly sought-after player with interest from several top clubs in the English Premier League. League leaders Arsenal are currently winning the chase to sign the 24-year-old midfielder, who also favours a move to the Gunners.

However, money might be a factor. West Ham is reportedly looking to receive more than £100 million for the England international but may settle for around £80 million. There might be a bidding war as Rice has also drawn interest from Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester United.

It is interesting that Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has plans to integrate Rice into his starting XI, which is something that appeals to the London-born defensive midfielder.

Rice has been a key player for West Ham over the past few seasons, and his departure would be a significant loss for the club. However, the opportunity for UCL football and working with an inspirational and talented manager like Arteta is something that Rice is excited about. Yet, will that be enough to bring him to the Emirates?
