January 19, (THEWILL) – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced major changes to the schedule of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022 in Group C.
According to a statement from the CAF Organising Committee, stated that in line its resolution on the situation in Group C, “Match 13: Morocco vs Madagascar is no longer taking place” and “Match 21: Ghana vs Morocco is no longer taking place.”
The statement also revealed that “Match 22: Sudan vs Madagascar will move from Oran and will now be played in Constantine. Kick-off time remains the same: 20h00 local time (19h00 GMT).” The CAF Organising Committee also announced that in accordance with the Regulations of the Competition, Group C will now be composed of three teams and the first two teams will qualify for the knockout stages.
The announcement of these changes may come as a disappointment to fans of the teams affected, but the CAF Organising Committee has made it clear that the decision was made in accordance with the regulations of the competition. The matches will proceed as planned, with the first two teams from the Group C advancing to the knockout stages.
