January 21, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the transfer of ownership of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna to the Kaduna State Government.

The decision was announced by the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who thanked the President and the Honourable Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, for the opportunity to take custody of the national asset.

El-Rufai stated that the stadium, located on the river bank of the country, has the potential to generate significant investments and revenue for the state. He also announced plans to upgrade the stadium to a world-class standard and to use it as a catalyst for economic and social development in the state.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, also expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his passion for the development of sports in Nigeria and assured that the Ministry will continue to implement government policies and programs related to sports and youth development.
