October 19, (THEWILL) – After a hard-fought goalless draw that extended Roberto De Zerbi’s dismal start as Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Nottingham Forest finally moved up the English Premier League standings.
Leandro Trossard of the Seagulls hit the crossbar in the opening period of a frustrating night for the lopsided hosts at the American Express Community Stadium, and Pascal Gross’ late goal attempt was brilliantly saved by Dean Henderson.
Despite failing to make an attempt at goal, struggling Forest moved a point and a spot above East Midlands rivals Leicester after tenaciously clinging on to earn only their sixth point of a challenging season thus far.
Brighton’s 19-goal efforts were wasteful and the result leaves them still in seventh place despite failing to score in three straight games and picking just two out of a potential 12 points since the hiring of head coach De Zerbi a month ago.
Tough ties award both sides in their next EPL matches. On Saturday, Brighton will play Manchester City on the road and on the same day, Forest hosts Liverpool.
