January 24, (THEWILL) – The Flying Eagles coach, Ladan Bosso, has called up three more foreign-based professionals as part of their preparations for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Zambia, Bosso has included Abel Ogwuche, Michael Ologo, and Lekan Oyedele in the squad. These matches are scheduled to take place in Abuja, on January 27 and January 30.
One of the foreign-based invitees, Trelleborg FF central defender, Ogwuche, is already in camp and is expected to feature in the friendlies. The defender recorded eight appearances in the Swedish Superettan over the course of the 2022 season.
Another foreign-based invitee, highly-rated Istanbulspor defender, Ologo, has given his word that he will link up with the team this week. The 19-year-old has forced his way into the Istanbulspor first team and has played in six out of their last eight matches.
Lastly, CD Feirense youth teamer, Oyedele, has also been called up and is expected to join the team in camp this week. These call-ups are a step towards the team’s preparation for AFCON as they look to build a strong and competitive squad.
