January 18, (THEWILL) – A socio-political organisation, known as the Tinubu/Shettima volunteers of Bayelsa State, has called on the people of the State and non-indigenes resident in Bayelsa State, to massively vote for the APC and its Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Shettima in the February 25th general elections, just as the people were urged to vote for all APC candidates in the State for the forthcoming elections.
This call was made by the grand patron of the group and a chieftain of the APC in Bayelsa State, Barr. Festus Daumiebi Sunday, who was also the party’s senatorial candidate for Bayelsa Central Senatorial District in the 2019 general elections while inaugurating the unit, wards and local government Areas coordinators of the group for the Asiwaju/Shettima project in Yenagoa, the state capital on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
He reminded the people of how the PDP had been given opportunities to develop the country, and particularly Bayelsa State, but how it has failed woefully in the past, stating that such a political party and its presidential candidate with the baggage of multiple corruption allegations and indictments cannot be entrusted with our collective patrimony at this critical time in our history when our nation is struggling with daunting challenges, ranging from the economy to security, etc as the harvest of the PDP’s 16 years of maladministration and clueless looting of our nation’s treasury.
Barr. Festus Daumiebi emphasised the need for credible, competent and development-oriented leaders like Tinubu/Shettima, to be entrusted with the responsibility of building the new Nigeria of our dreams, as the antecedents of both leaders in their respective States when they held sway as governors of Lagos and Borno States respectively.
The APC chieftain called on the people of Bayelsa State not to be deceived by the antics of failed politicians, who remember them only during election years.
Barr. Festus Daumiebi told the gathering of the members of Asiwaju/Shetima volunteers that with Asiwaju/Shetima as the custodians of our security and economy, a new Nigeria is possible.
Those inaugurated at the meeting were unit agents, community coordinators, ward agents, LGA coordinators and a central coordinating body for the State, headed by Hon. West Karitongha Japhet.
In his response on behalf of those inaugurated, Hon. Japhet assured the people of their commitment to round all towns and villages across the nooks and crannies in the state to mobilise support for the victory of our Presidential candidates and all other party candidates on the ballot.
