December 14, (THEWILL) – Hollywood actor, Michael B Jordan, has become part of the new ownership group of Bournemouth, the English Premier League (EPL) club in the United Kingdom.

The club disclosed this in a statement announcing Bill Foley, the US billionaire businessman, as its new owner.

According to the statement, Jordan is one of the minority stakeholders at the club.

It added that the ‘Black Panther’ actor will work closely with Foley “in areas including global marketing and internationalization of the club”.

“The minority ownership group is led by award-winning actor, director and producer, Michael B. Jordan and Nullah Sarker (The Players Tribune, Davis Cup). AFC Bournemouth is Michael’s first foray into professional sports ownership, as he and Nullah will work closely with Bill in areas including global marketing and internationalisation of the club,” the statement reads.

Foley acquired the club from Maxim Demin, who sold his 100 percent stake to Black Knight Football Club, of which the US billionaire businessman is the managing general partner.

The statement said, “Foley and his partners are committed to providing the investment to sustain and build upon AFC Bournemouth’s recent accomplishments, which includes returning to the Premier League in 2022/23, where the Cherries have spent six of the last eight seasons.”

Bournemouth currently occupies the 14th position in the EPL table. The club gained promotion to the EPL from the second-tier championship last season.
