February 01, (THEWILL) – Atletico Madrid has completed the signing of Matt Doherty after his contract with Tottenham was terminated to pave the way for the transfer.

The Republic of Ireland defender has signed a contract with Atletico until the end of the season and will join the team in their pursuit of success. He follows in the footsteps of Kieran Trippier, who made a similar move to Atletico in 2019 and was an integral part of the team that lifted the La Liga title in the 2020/2021 season.

Atletico will be hoping that Doherty can bring the same level of skill and success to the team as Trippier did.

At the same time, Atletico defender Felipe has completed a move to Nottingham Forest. The 33-year-old was only a limited contributor to Atletico this season, and he is looking forward to a new challenge in the English Premier League.

Felipe is eager to be a part of the history of Nottingham Forest and grow with the club as they look to establish themselves in the league.
