November 30, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a contract by Al-Nassr that may make him the highest-paid football player in history.
The 37-year-old parted ways with Manchester United earlier this month by mutual consent after he spoke up against the club’s hierarchy, manager, and players in a fiery interview with Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo, who is now with Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar, had previously been pursued by Saudi Arabian clubs and declined an offer to join Al-Hilal in the summer despite being offered more than £300 million.
Al-Hilal was preparing a new bid for Ronaldo, but it is said that they have since shifted their focus to Lionel Messi and other priorities, giving Al-Nassr the opportunity to attempt and arrange their own transfer.
Ronaldo’s current plan seems to be to stay in Europe so he can continue to play in the UEFA Champions League, but Al-Nassr has made a record-breaking contract offer to bring him to Saudi Arabia that he may consider given the current circumstances.
