February 07, (THEWILL) – The Rivers State Government has re-issued an approval for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to use the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in the state, to host its presidential campaign rally.
Rivers governor, Nyesom Wike, announced the development on Tuesday, during the PDP campaign rally in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of the State.
The Governor said the approval was communicated to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, following appeals from leaders
THEWILL reports that the State Government had on January 31, withdrew the initial approval of February 11 granted for the presidential campaign rally, adding that it received credible intelligence that the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation was working in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
It alleged that the PDP campaign was intending to share the approved facility with the APC, whose activities, it claimed is “characterised by violence.”
