November 18, (THEWILL) – Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, will play host to his Kano and Bauchi States Counterparts, Abdullahi Ganduje and Bala Mohammed, during this year’s Press Week organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Cross River State chapter.

The Chairman of the 2022 Cross River Media Week Planning Committee, Comrade Sam Nsor, in a statement, disclosed that Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, will serve as the Chairman of the occasion and is also expected to unveil the proposed NUJ veteran plaza.

Nsor added that the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Muhammed Buba Marwa (rtd); Bauchi State Governor, Bala Muhammed, and Major Hamza Al Mustapha, would be guests of honours.

Similarly, he added that the keynote speaker at the event themed: “2023 General Elections, The Nigeria Project And The Media”, would be Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

Other dignitaries expected include former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, as well as a retired Independent National Electoral Commission, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mike Igini, who would be guest lecturers.

Chairman of the State NUJ, Comrade Nsa Gill, said the theme was carefully selected to bring into focus the upcoming general elections.

He indicated that the occasion would provide an enabling environment for the cross-fertilization of ideas among security experts, captains of industries, politicians and media practitioners, as well as propound a road map for the successful conduct of the 2023 general elections.

Events earmarked for the week commence with a Jumat Service including medical outreach, visits to veterans of the profession as well as a town hall meeting for governorship candidates of the various political parties.
