San Francisco, July 28, (THEWILL) – President Goodluck Jonathan returned to Abuja today after repairs were carried out on his Presidential Jet which developed a technical fault ten minutes after take-off on Tuesday from the Entebe International Airport in Uganda. Jonathan was in Uganda to attend the 15th African Union General Assembly meeting in Kampala, Uganda. The President was scheduled to have departed Uganda on Tuesday night. Presidential spokesman, Mr. Ima Niboro in a statement on Wednesday said, "President Jonathan was to have returned last night (Tuesday) but the trip was aborted when the President’s aircraft developed a minor technical fault soon after take-off. "The aircraft, however, successfully returned to the Entebbe International Airport. By this morning, the fault was fixed and President Jonathan along with members of his entourage flew back to the country. The President is in high spirits," Niboro added. The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday afternoon. He was however unable to chair the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting which Vice President Namadi Sambo presided over.
