CLO Commends Jega's Nomination

JOS, June 10, (THEWILL) - The Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, has commended the recommendation of Prof. Attahiru Jega by the Nigerian Council of State as INEC chairman.
The CLO in a statement by its president, Titus Mann, said Prof. Jega would succeed given his track record both as a lecturer and as a unionist adding that he has been an active participant in the quest for progressive social change in Nigeria.
"His membership of the Justice Muhammad Uwais committee whose progressive recommendations hold the key to credible elections, puts Prof. Jega in an exceptionally good position to turn INEC around," the CLO stated.
The statement said Prof. Jega's membership of the Justice Uwais committee on electoral reform puts the professor in a good position to turn INEC into an institution that can successfully deliver on it mandate.
