Conference Of PDP State Chairmen Panic Over Sack
ASABA, DELTA, May 21, (THEWILL) - Following the forced resignation of Prince Vincent Ogbulafor as the national chairman of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP), THEWILL can report that fear has enveloped the Conference of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Chairmen over a their sack.
Rising from an enlarged meeting attended by the 36 state chairmen of the ruling party held in Asaba, Delta State capital, Thursday, the conference frowned at any attempt to dissolve the state chapters of the party across the 36 states without recourse to the party's constitution.
In an Eleven-point communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, signed by Mr. Emmanuel Agbo, who doubles as chairman of the conference and Benue State PDP chairman, and Secretary, Chief Bola Olu-Ojo who's also Ekiti State PDP chairman, the conference called on the National leadership of the party to immediate revoke without further delay all dissolutions carried out at the state chapters or at any level of the party.
The Conference also observed with "dismay" the unprovoked attack by the opposition parties against federal agencies and the judiciary whenever the judiciary rules against them.
They however assured stakeholders of the party of the state chairmen's resolve to support any person nominated to fill the vacant office of the National Chairman of the party in accordance with its constitution.
The conference also called for the probe of the Action Congress (AC) over the 2007 elections in Sokoto, Ekiti and Osun following the allegations preferred against them and accused AC of embarking on campaigns of calumny whenever it failed in court.
Mr. Agbo said the conference has reviewed the performance of all the AC and other opposition parties controlled-states and have resolved that the national leadership of PDP should identify difficulties encountered by the PDP and also provide them with extra-support.
While congratulating President Goodluck Jonathan on his successful inauguration as President as well as the new Vice President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo, the Conference pledged their unflinching loyalty and support to Jonathan.
