San Francisco, April 22, (THEWILL) –THEWILL today obtained an amateur photographer’s shots in what looked like various police operations in Oghara, Delta State, in an attempt to apprehend a wanted former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori.

THEWILL has not been able to independently verify the photographs sent to us by a gentleman with the name Olumuyiwa Adepeju because they are undated. Muyiwa said the photos were taken Tueday, April 20, 2010 at about 1.p.m.

The Nigerian Police Force said its men came under gunfire from militants near Ibori’s hometown causing them to retreat but the gentleman that sent the photos said the police actually made it to Ibori’s home and residence without any serious resistance.

He debunked claims that gunmen attacked the police team as earlier reported in the media.

Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu of the police and EFCC’s Mr. Femi Babafemi confirmed to THEWILL in a conference call today, that they have not made another attempt to grab the fugitive former governor since the last attempt.

We also informed them of the photos in our possession showing their men in Ibori’s hometown and residence, somehow contradicting their earlier statement that they retreated after coming under fire from gunmen, but they insisted that their report was accurate.
