WARRI, DELTA March 25, (THEWILL) - As preparations enter top gear for the forthcoming elections across the country, the re-election of incumbent Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan may suffer a setback, even as uncertainties continue to trail his second term bid.

THEWILL findings revealed that Uduaghan is presently not in harmony with his kinsmen, who are eyeing various elective positions in the forthcoming elections.

The governor, who is said to be trying to deprive some of his kinsmen from seeking elective positions, is set to face another serious in-house problem that could jeopardize his re-election.

Some of the aggrieved aspirants, a competent source said, were invited recently to a secret meeting where Governor Uduaghan told them to drop their respective ambitions.

Inside source confirmed that the Governor’s pleas fell in deaf ears, as they were provoked by the governor’s statement, and told him to his face that they would not drop their ambitions, but heading to face the general elections, where the electorates will decide.

THEWILL gathered that some of the Governors kinsmen were showing interest in contesting for both National and State House of Assembly slots, while it was further revealed that the Governor is succumbing to pressure to endorse serving House of Assembly members for third and fourth terms, which has been seriously condemned by majority of Deltans.

Despite the people’s condemnation of the third and fourth term bids for serving members, the governor is going against the wishes of the people, and his key advisers.

Uduaghan has come under attack lately especially for his damning comments on the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta which emanated in the detonation of two bombs in Warri and his decision to disregard threats of a possible bomb attacks even when the warnings were obvious.
