2007 Election: Appeal Court Removes Joy Emordi As Senator

San Francisco March 25, (THEWILL) – A Court of Appeal presided by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has removed Senator Joy Emordi as senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District and instead declared ANPP candidate in the 2007 election, Mr. Alphonsus Uba Igbeke as the winner of the election.
This ruling takes immediate effect and brings to an abrupt end the senatorial career of Mrs. Joy Emordi. The court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to her.
Emordi until her sack represented the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and was Chairman, Senate Committee on Education.
