Lagos March 21, (THEWILL) – Pastor Tunde Bakare, one of the facilitators of the pro democracy group, Save Nigeria Group has debunked claims that the movement received funds from Nuhu Ribadu, Nasir El-rufai and Cecilia Ibru.

The Save Nigeria Group has been in the fore front of demonstrations, with rallies in Abuja, Lagos, London and New York urging the gravely ill Nigerian President Musa Yar’Adua to resign from office while it also pressured the National Assembly to impeach him from office if he failed to do.

There was a report last week in a local daily which accused the group of receiving funds from those it accused of being against the Yar’Adua administration especially the ones mentioned above.

Bakare at his Sunday church service at the Latter Rain Assembly in Lagos said the group has no affiliation to Ribadu, El-rufai or Ibru adding that when the group needed funds, the church usually obliged.

"I have told the whole world before; this struggle is not for Bakare or any individual. It is for the liberation of my country, that those who believed that this country is their own property will no longer take us for a ride.

"I never met Ribadu or el Rufai. If you see them, let me know. We have not taken any donation from anybody to do what we are doing. When I need money, I can come to my church to do that."
