San Francisco Feb 07 (THEWILL) – The hide and seek game between Nigerian first lady, Turai Yar’Adua and Nigerians over the true state of health of president Umaru Yar’Adua continued on Sunday when she blocked a scheduled a trip of members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to Jeddah to see the ailing president and see things for themselves.

PDP National Chairman, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor; Deputy National Chairman, Dr. Harilu Bello Mohammed; National Secretary, Alhaji Abubukar Baraje; and Deputy National Secretary, Dr. Musa Babayo; had completed preparations for their journey and were billed to have departed on Sunday when word came from Jeddah that the first lady would not grant them access to the president.

THEWILL checks revealed that Turai Yar’Adua’s decision, which as reported earlier, has also left the president’s principal secretary, Mr. David Edevbie stranded in Dubai, is aimed at preventing Nigerian government personnel from knowing the true state of the ailing leader. This is known to be the same reason why she turned down the request of the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, who had requested to see the president at the hospital in Jeddah.

The first lady, according to a top PDP stalwart is reportedly furious over the Senate resolution and a warning of a possible impeachment if the president declines to honour their request to send a medical vacation letter to the national assembly. Not only that, Turai is also miffed at the recent backing given to the vice president by all state governors, which she views as a sort of betrayal.

Another thing giving Turai nightmares and fueling her disdain for the PDP is the proposed political solution which the governors and the national assembly would workout within the next 48 hours. The new resolution would see the vice president become acting president, without a letter from the president.

Since November 24, 2009, when the president arrived at the King Faisal hospital in Jeddah, Turai had practically determined who would and would not have access to the president.
