San Francisco (THEWILL) - The Federal High Court in Asaba on Tuesday afternoon released the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment of Justice Marcel Awokulehin in the alleged money laundering trial of former governor, Chief James Ibori.

The Judge had on Thursday, last week struck out all the charges leveled against the ex governor and his associates.

The Commission had informed THEWILL in a conference call early Tuesday morning that the court was deliberately holding on to the document to frustrate its planned appeal.

EFCC’s Femi Babafemi has however confirmed to THEWILL that the High Court finally made the Certified True Copy available after stalling its release since the morning the judgment was read.

The Commission formally filed an appeal later in the day at the Court of Appeal in Benin City, Edo State.

We were not able to confirm as at the time of filing this report when the appeal will be heard.
