President Yar’Adua Is Alive-King Faisal Takhassussi Hospital
San Francisco (THEWILL) – THEWILL has confirmed that Nigerian president, Umaru Musa Yar’dua is alive and still receiving treatment for a kidney related disease called churg-strauss syndrome at the King Faisal Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
There have been speculations that the ailing president has passed on. We have received emails, facebook messages and phone calls from our readers seeking to confirm the report.
We have been able to confirm through multiple highly knowledgeable sources that the president though still sick, is being given the best of care at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (Takhassussi) in Jeddah.
The duty manager at the hospital would not answer any questions when we called, but the hospital in a brief statement released and made available to the media on wednesday night GMT said " The Nigerian President is in good condition. He underwent routine internal medical checks and had lunch today at the hospital. He may well leave tomorrow to perform a pilgrimage to Mecca."
The Nigerian leader left Nigeria on Monday evening for Saudi Arabia to meet with his doctors after his medical condition had deteriorated over-night. He was admitted on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, and has undergone series of medical tests.
This is not the first time that talks about the president’s death has hit the waves. The president was speculated to have died in a German hospital in 2007 after he was admitted during his presidential campaign.
President Yar’Adua is with his wife, Turai, some family members and close aides in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
